WordPress site hacked – distributes tainted code

I’m getting fed up with having to update WordPress every week. The latest update comes just nine days after the last. This one goes under the title, WordPress 2.1.1 dangerous, Upgrade.

The long and short of it is some clever, sneaky cracker managed to gain access to one of the download servers for WordPress updates and added “unusual and highly exploitable code” to WordPress Version 2.1.1.

So if you happen to have WP 2.1.1 you had best update to WP 2.1.2 immediately – and tell all your friends, neighbours, admins, traffic wardens (okay, maybe not the last one).
