If you have a Satmap handheld gps unit and are pulling your hair out trying to get the map orientation to work and it won’t toggle by pressing the bottom-left button and no matter how many times you push it, the map orientation won’t work, you need to make a small, simple, but crucial adjustment in ‘Settings.’
What’s happened is you have the Advanced Power Control set to ‘Advanced’ (updates from GPS every 4 seconds) and you need to change it to ‘Normal’ (updates GPS every second).
Go to the map view, hit the bottom-left button and voila! The Satmap satnav will now toggle happily between map views and you can switch from ‘North up’ to ‘Track up’ with a single click of a button, as advertised in the instructions.
